Instructional videos for the Cymedica Evive brace and GameReady cooling device used after orthopedic surgery with Dr. Gomoll.
After knee surgery, Dr. Gomoll's patients commonly use the Cymedica Evive brace with e-stim and the GameReady cooling device to support recovery. Below are the official instructional videos for fitting, range of motion, e-stim use, and cold-therapy use. See our post-op instructions for guidance on when to wear your brace.
Brace & muscle stim
Cymedica Evive brace and e-stim
The Cymedica Evive brace combines a knee brace with electrical muscle stimulation (e-stim) to help maintain quadriceps strength during early recovery. Watch all five videos before your first use:

in addition to electrical stimulation the eve I've system incorporates range of motion sensing technology the range of motion test is easy to perform and will allow you and your healthcare provider to track your rehabilitation progress against your goals once daily you will be prompted to perform a range of motion tests to begin the range of motion test first be seated at the edge of the seat in a chair where your knee can extend and Bend comfortably it is important that the garment be adequately secured to your leg as described in previous videos for accurate range of motion readings it is important that the blue stitching on the top of the thigh area on the garment be aligned with the middle of your thigh similarly the blue stitching on the bottom area of the garment below the knee should be aligned with the center of your shin adjust the garment is needed for proper orientation after pressing the pink start test button slowly extend and flex your leg to the extents that you can achieve it is important to not overexert your range of motion beyond your comfort limits and to follow any instructions that your doctor may have provided to you the knee image on the app will show the angle of your knee once the limits accurately reflect the range of motion that you feel you can achieve hit the capture button that's it you're done if the readings don't seem accurate you can always reset the values by selecting reset or test again by pressing the pink done button you can return to the home screen where you can view all of your daily weekly and monthly range of motion results

when you are ready to begin your 20-minute muscle activation therapy session remove the electrode covers from the garment exposing the sticky hydrogel surface of the electrode the electrode should be clean undamaged and tacky enough to stick to your skin for best results apply a pea-sized amount of electro gel to your skin where the electrodes will rest the electro gel helps transmit the muscle activation signal between electrode and your muscle minimizing signal dissipation and discomfort position the garment under your leg ensuring proper alignment of the electrodes to your thigh muscles secure the garment flaps by pulling the electrode panel over your thigh and tightening the flaps from the dashboard screen you can press the top daily stimulation session logo or the stimulation session logo from the bottom menu bar press the get started button when you are ready once daily you will be prompted to rate your current level of pain simply slide the circle with your finger to the appropriate level of pain and then press Start stimulation your eve I've app will display a screen asking you to select your stimulation treatment type two types of treatments are displayed post-op and strength select the treatment prescribed by your doctor often post-op is used in the weeks immediately after surgery reawakening your atrophied muscles strength is then used throughout your rehab program to strengthen your thigh muscles without stressing the healing tissues in your knee
Cold therapy
GameReady cooling device
GameReady combines compression and circulating cold water to reduce post-operative swelling and pain. Use as directed by your surgical team — typically immediately after surgery and during early rehab.
GameReady — clinical benefits
Transcript
The powerful Game Ready system provides optimal therapeutic benefits following injury or surgery. The dual action wrap combines cryotherapy with intermittent compression. These actions together help reduce fluid and limit bleeding within the joint that can cause pain and swelling. At the tissue level, blood vessels constrict and fluid outflow into the interstitial space is reduced. Cryotherapy can reduce the number of white blood cells that migrate to the injury or surgical site, reduce the release of inflammatory chemicals, and help slow down the conduction of pain nerve signals. In combination, these therapeutic benefits reduce pain and swelling and help lower opioid use. To learn more about the Game Ready system, visit us at gameready.com.
